We recommend people reserve early as apparently another area show is creating a great demand for hotel rooms that weekend.

Parking

Parking is in the garage under the hotel. There is free parking for guests, others pay $5 a day. Passes for the reduced parking are available on request at registration either for the whole weekend or the day. You will need the pass to give the attendant on the way out to get the reduced rate.

Rates

The special room rate of $99 at the UMass Hotel is  for conference attendees. You must to tell them you are with the “Changing Times, Changing Worlds” conference in order to get this rate, and reserve by October 15th, but after that it will be the usual rates. You can call the to book a room. The Hospitality Suite and Dealers Row will be on the 7th floor- right under the function room floors.

Public Transportation

BUS:

Peter Pan bus lines goes to Northampton, and  www.peterpanbus.com or call them at 1 (800) 343-9999. They have a stop at the Fine Arts Center, and the local bus servic is the PVTA (Pioneer Valley Transit Authority) http://www.pvta.com/ .

TRAIN:

The closest train station is in Amherst; the Amtrak Vermonter comes in about twice a day. It is about 2.2 miles away from the hotel.  For more information, scheduling and ticketing, either go to www.amtrak.com or call them at 1 (800) 872-7245.

AIR:

The nearest airport is Bradley International, in Windsor Locks, CT. (about 45 miles, or about an hour). Their telephone number is (860) 292-2000. When you call the airport, you’ll get on an automated answering service, which can give you bus company telephone numbers, and then you call the bus company to get the schedule from Bradley to Amherst. From Bradley there are also companies who can bring you to UMass Hotel:
