Since we want to create a balanced program between the many incredible subjects available (healing, divination, energy work, spirituality/religion/folklore, etc.) we’d love it if you would suggest several workshops you would like to give. This is your chance to present the information or techniques that you’d like to share. If you suggest more than you want to do, let us know how many you’d like to actually do. We also want to know how much time each workshop would take, and how you’d like them to be distributed. Please include any prerequisites. Remember, at this conference we are moving beyond the introductory material. People really want that, but at the same time, if you are doing something advanced, it’s fair to let the folks know before they get in the room. Please include mention of anything your students need to know in order to benefit from this level class: general (or advanced): for example: having already had Reiki I, understanding of runes, or chakras, solid ability to ground, being able to control to avoid entering trance… That’s why we don’t restrict the class description on the website.
We would love to comp our speakers fully, but cannot yet afford to do that. All we can afford is a $10 per class discount. (Help us promote this conference and in a few years we’ll have enough attendees to do that.) Meanwhile we will try to show our gratitude by being as good to you as we can. One thing we try hard to do is not schedule you against the classes you’d like to attend. We can’t arrange that until the schedule is up, but we will do our very best so that you can enjoy the conference as well. Since we are running up to eight workshops and panels at once, and many are longer than an hour, this can be difficult. Despite our best intentions, sometimes we schedule two classes someone wants to see against each other. Also, some classes have to be on the less attended Friday and late Sunday blocks. To reduce this stress, let us know if you’d be willing to repeat any of your classes (perhaps on different days) so people who missed it once may be able to go to the second time. Also, let us know if there are other scheduling needs. For example- when are you getting in and leaving? will you be available on only one day? Do we need to avoid early mornings or late night slots for you? This year we hope to have the schedule posted by mid October, and that means we need all the classes in before that. (If we add any after that time, we’ll have to put them wherever they fit.)
Another thing we are doing to help with the fact that we are doing so many fantastic classes at the same time is audio recording the as many workshops as possible, so people can get at least a bit of what they missed. Please let us know whether you are willing to be recorded (by class). We are doing this for the benefit of the attendees, and you retain the rights, and we’ll even give you the master so you can sell any copies yourself it you’d like. If you are willing to donate it, the conference will be getting a buck from each CD sold, either way, you’ll retain the rights to the material.
If you have any questions or suggestions, email Tchipakkan or Jane info@changingtimeschangingworlds.org
Please do not hesitate to call us, or email us. We’ve tried to think of everything on this form, but anything else we’ll have to just handle individually.
Workshop information (please send in one of these for each workshop)
- The Description of your workshop for the website should include what kind of workshop it is, is it a lecture, a demonstration with exercises, a guided meditation, ritual, performance, discussion, or something else. It should describe it so that people can pick which events they want to attend. Let us know if you want to restrict attendants to a certain number, or age, or gender. Include prerequisites.
- Note that we are asking you to include two versions of the description for each workshop: one’s for putting up on the website, and can be as long as you like, so people will know why they want to come to your great workshop. The other one is shorter- sized for fitting into the program booklet.
- Time needed: How long should your workshop take? 1 hour, 2? 90 minutes? If it needs more time, let us know how much. This is your opportunity to do the class the way you think it should be done.
- Special requirements: limited number of participants, a lot of space for movement? tables or no tables, do you need special set-up time? Do you need a white board, projector for a power point?
- Spacing: if you are doing more than one class, or a series of related workshops is there an order in which they should be presented? Should they be one each day- or on the same day before and after lunch?
- You can take as much room as you need to describe your workshop on the website, but the program booklet only has so much space. We’re asking you to give us the short form of the description, (as well as your bio) and the title of the workshop srt enough that we can fit it in the program schedule chart. Remember in the short form it should make what it’s about clear in one or two words.
- Special Recording instructions are, for example, if you are willing to be recorded but want to take the master with you and distribute copies yourself. We are having the recording done for the benefit of the attendees, not to make money. If you are willing to let us get the portion of the sale, we’re grateful, but understand that many speakers do sell recorded versions of their material themselves, and don’t have any intention of competing with our speakers.
After submitting, click here to reload the form, to submit another workshop.
We’d prefer to get the forms, but you could also send the same information by email or postal mail: programming@changingtimeschangingworlds.org If you do this, please include all the information, not just some of it. I’d rather work on the schedule and promoting the conference than chase you down for missing information.
